Fire Marshal Ed Engel

Fire Marshal Ed Engel moved to O'Fallon, MO in 1990 and joined the O'Fallon Fire Protection District as a volunteer firefighter in 1991.  During this time, he also became a full-time firefighter with the McDonnell Douglas Fire Department.  He had the opportunity to be promoted to a career firefighter position and made the jump to O'Fallon Fire in January 2000 when he took a position within the Fire Prevention Division.  He was promoted to Fire Marshal in July of 2023.

Ed graduated from Western Illinois University with a BS in Industrial Technology and has achieved the following fire certifications along the way: Firefighter I and II, Fire Officer I and II, Fire Instructor I, Hazardous Materials Technician, Driver/Operator, and Fire Inspector I & II.  He has actively participated with the St. Charles/Warren County Hazardous Materials Response Team and with our own firefighter's Outreach program, as well as ongoing continuing education.
